Dynamical Systems-Applications

The field of Dynamical Systems covers a huge set of mathematical theories and techniques. Its primary goal is to model phenomena that evolve with time; celestial mechanics have historically played a crucial role in the development of the theory of Dynamical Systems. Today, Dynamical Systems are in use everywhere for modeling purpose; this includes: thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, epidemics, ecosystems, neuroscience, emotions, to cite only but a few. The HSM is particularly interested in investigating models able to somehow describe the electrical activity of the brain-- from the single neuron to cortex areas-- and its relashionship to human external behavior.
